It calms my listlessness, to get in the car and take a country drive. I usually enjoy taking a quick trip on a bright sunny day. Recently, I realized that being in a car going 40, 50 or 60 miles an hour on a country road could qualify as an illusion. The miles of freshly plowed fields, or rolling hills being seen from the passenger window seem calming , almost relaxing as you pass them. Yet, you are physically flying by them seeing only a glimpse of what appears to be a slower lifestyle that moves more like a turtle rather than an automobile.
How ironic! The enjoyment of a country drive is really just an illusion.
