It starts out as an innocent effort to provide women who are coming out of domestic violence or human trafficking and it turned into a huge mission effort for a few women who loved to sew. We had 10 sewing machines and drawstring bag kits totaling 150. Women who were seasoned seamstresses and others who were willing to be trained on how to use the machines were placed at each sewing station. Beginning as early as 10:00 and leaving as late as 3:30 that afternoon and what a special day. It was a modern day sewing bee with ladies and hostesses making it complete with a brunch/lunch.
