April and May came and went in this year of 2024. We ventured to the Smoky Mountains for a couple of weeks and then invited friends and family to come to the cabin and enjoy our mountain top experience. We have loved the refreshment and renewal we enjoyed after our time in the mountains. However this year was an amazing reconnection with our friends from many years ago, while attending college together. I am always amazed at how strong our connections have been over the years. Several years went by without us talking or visiting each other. In the last 10 years we have been diligent to make sure we get together regularly. Even though regularly was maybe once a year, it was still a huge improvement over the many years that we missed. Life happens and we were busy building our families. It was the best of times and the worst of times that brought us back together. We gathered in the Smokies and we enjoyed the walk down memory lane which took us back more than 45 years ago. We shared new adventures and created new memories as our lives slowed down for a week and we could love and care for our treasured life long friends. There is nothing more powerful than connections with those who have known you longer than your children have known you. What an incredible reunion in 2024 with the Myers in the Smokey Mountains.
After the week with our sweet college crew, we invited our Kid's and their families to the mountains. They of course have become very attached to our cabin in the Mountains. We are blessed to have invested early in our young lives and because we did we enjoy this "home away from home" and our haven of rest. This world is filled with opportunity - if you can - try to enjoy it with family and friends. They are your lifetime of treasured memories.
